篇一:《It Is Never Too Late To Volunteer》
It Is Never Too Late To Volunteer
201006310 Linda
Last suer, I volunteered to be an Enlish teaher in a priary shool for the hildren of irant workers. To be exat, I was not volunteerin, I was draed into it. When I ae into the shabby lassroo, I was shoked. The students were readin books loudly, whih was distintly reoved fro what I had in y ind. A week’s teahin passed away, I felt sad when I was leavin. This volunteer teahin ade e unforettable and refleted the sinifiane of volunteer teahin. As far as I a onerned, volunteer teahin brins eduational resoures to the ountryside. To the volunteers, they both pratie their knowlede and ain new valuable skills and experiene that will help the in the areer path. In addition, they know ore about the rassroots and win the thankful hearts. n the whole, volunteer teahin is a sinifiant pursuit.
In the first plae, volunteer teahin brins exellent eduational resoures to the ountryside. In hina, there is a ap between ity and ountryside in eduation. Volunteer teahers just like new blood of the body, whih iprove the ountryside eduation. There is a speial prora in hina whih is oranied by the overnent. Every year, there will be a lare aount of volunteer teahers sent to western hina to support the eduation. The ollee student naed Xu Benyu is one of the. He is the person who won the “2004 hina Prie for Who ove hina”. He has been volunteerin in the ountryside and planed to live a life of selflessness to the eduation. He devoted hiself to eduation and ade proress in loal eduation. Volunteer teahers do iprove the eduational level of ountryside, and these friendly behaviors enhane the harony of soiety. Volunteer teahin in ountryside benefits
soiety in noral, spiritual and eotional ways.
Not only an volunteer teahin brin exellent eduation resoures to the ountryside, but also offer an iportant opportunity to apply knowlede and skills aquired in ollee to pratie. In the eantie, volunteers an ain new skills and experienes. If you are a volunteer teaher who teahes the hildren in the ountryside, you will easily find this fat. By doin this, you will be iven the hane to see if you have ot a ood oand of knowlede. Besides, it reinds e of the words of ahata andhi, “the best way to find you is to lose yourself in the servie of others.” Volunteer teahin whih is the ost sinifiant aoplishent will be the ontribution you ake to iprove the lives of others. The hildren in that area are able to enjoy the sunshine aain and ain a new life beause of enorous efforts of volunteers. Althouh volunteerin is the work without onetary opensation, you an enjoy the journey of teahin knowlede and awakenin the poor hildren. Furtherore, durin the proess of volunteerin, you learn the new skills and experiene whih is benefiial in the rest of your life. y Enlish teaher ike is a kind volunteer teaher. He told e that the Peae orps whih is the oraniation he joined, provided hi with up to three onths of intensive trainin before servie bean and offered ontinued trainin throuhout his servie. bviously, these experienes will add to the beauty of ike’s life. These preious experienes will help a lot in any areer path, even the path of findin the true eanin of life.
Last but not least, volunteer teahin provides us with a hane to learn to be rateful. A friend of ine has been a volunteer teaher in western hina. He told e a lot of thins about the loal soiety. In the shabby lassroo, with the squeaky desk, the hildren are thirsty for
knowlede. He also told e a story about a little boy whose father built asphalt roads, tireless and enthusiasti. Inside yself a heart is rowin, a heart that not only beats for yself, but ares for others as well. Volunteerin ives us a little preious hane of sayin thanks to people like the little boy’s father, who onstruts hihways and underrounds, and akes our ities ore and ore beautiful. To help the hildren with their ourses is all we ould do at present to show our ratitude to these unsun heroes. oreover, I was affeted by it. I bean to understand that everyone is able to do a ood deed for this soiety. For a person like e, who is not workin and who has absolutely no oney at all, I an do volunteer, thouh. aybe I would be a foral volunteer teaher in the future like ike.
Winston hurhill one said:“we ake a livin by what we et, we ake a life by what we ive.” Volunteer teahers just like the andles, whih liht others’ lives but onsue theselves. They ake a friendly bride between bi ities and ountryside, spreadin iviliation to the poor areas. Their experienes and new skills lead the to the road of a new life. They also develop a heart of ratitude throuh volunteerin. As I have shown, volunteer teahers belon to those people you have likely heard of and who in one way or another, diretly or indiretly, by intention or aident, hane the fate of ountryside’s hildren, and ain a sinifiant life of the.
篇二:《too…to…
too…to…
adv.+to do .其中“to do”修饰“too+adj. / adv.”
1. The proble is too hard for a hild to understand.(问题太难了,小孩子不能理解。)
2. Exaples are too any to ite.(例子太多,举不胜举。)
3. It’s too old to o in the sea yet.(天太冷,还不能下海。)
4. It’s too lon a journey to ake in one day.(路程太远,一天之内到不了。)
. It’s too ood an opportunity to iss.(那是一个不应该错过的极好机会。)
6. It’s too early for us to o yet.(我们现在就去太早了点。)
7. It’s too old to o swiin.(天气太冷,不能去游泳。)
. He is too uh of a oward(too owardly) to fiht.(他太懦弱,不敢抗争。)
9. It’s too late to shut the stable door when the steed is stolen.(贼去关门,为时已晚。)
10. Lyin in the pool of blood, she was too week to speak.(她躺在血泊里,虚弱得说不出话来。)
1. Atos are too sall to see(or be seen)with naked eyes.(原子太小,肉眼看不见。)
2. It’s too hot to eat(or to be eaten).(太烫了,没法吃。)
3. The liht is too di to be used for lose work.(这灯太暗,不能用来做细活。)
4. That was too opliated to be expressed learly inone or tow words.
1. Novels in the oriinal are too diffiult to read.(主动语态)(原版小说太难读了。)
2. At that tie he was too far away to be seen.(被动语态)
二、当“too„ to”结构之前加了not,only,but,all,never等词时,“ too„to”结构构成的句子也无否定意义。
1. ne is never too old to learn.(活到老,学到老。)it,is,never,too,late,to,learn.
2. Swiin is not too diffiult to learn.(游泳并不十分难学。)
3. We are only too pleased to o with her.(我们非常乐意和她一起去。)
4. ary knew but too well to hold her tonue on that oasion.
. It’s never too late to end.(亡羊补牢,犹未为晚。)
6. They are all too satisfied to follow others suit without the pain of thouht for theselves.
He is too ruel to sypathy for others.(他太残忍了,对人不会有同情心。)
it,is,never,too,late,to,learn.
He is only too lay to do it hiself.(他太懒了,哪会自己去干那种事。)
1. At another tie I learned that no atter was too sall to esape the Prie inister’s attention.
2. He was an all-round enius. Nothin was too diffiult for hi to learn.
3. The question was so easy. Noone in the world was too foolish to answer it.
1. The old woen was too ready to talk.(那位老妇人太饶舌。)
2. He is too ready to find fault.(他最喜欢挑毛病。)
2. The tradesan was too anxious to sell his pens.(这位买卖人十分急于卖掉他的钢笔。)
4. He was too willin to aept ary’s invitation.(玛丽的邀请他求之不得。)
. Beinners are too apt to ake istakes here.(初学者特别容易在这儿搞错。)
四、在“too„to”结构中,to do前用 not加以否定。
1. He was too anry not to ritiie her.(他太生气了,哪能不批评她。)
2. The poe is far too beautiful not to be requited here.
3. His experiene there was too bitter not to be reebered.
4. r. Holes was too wise not to see the triks of the riinals.
. To is too hard-workin not to pass the exa.(汤姆这么用功,哪有考不及格的道理。)
6. He read too any books about Afria not to known soethin about the soial ustos there.(他读了那么多有关非洲的书,不会不对哪儿的社会习俗有所了解。)
五、“Too„to”与“enouh to”和“ so„that”的区别:
“too„to”结构与“enouh to”和“ so„that”,它们间有共同点,也有不同点。
1)A train was oin near quikly, and the boy was too frihtened to ove.
2)When we talk about the universe,we ean notonly the earth, the sun,the oon and the stars, but also all the thins too far away to see.
it,is,never,too,late,to,learn.
3)At the end of six onths he had learned enouh to read artiles and reports in Russian.
4)Is the ie hard enouh to skate on?(在冰上滑冰,冰硬不硬?)
)In fat,his Enlish inone of these artiles was so ood that Enels wrote hi a letter and praised hi for it.(事实上,从马克思的其中一篇文章中可以看出,他的水平是很好的,从此,恩格斯给他写信表扬了他。)
6)He had astered the lanuae so well that he was able to write the book in Enlish.
1)“too„to”结构与“enouh to”结构相互转换,要改用反义的形容词。如: I’ afraid I a too stupid to follow your aruent.
= I’ not wise enouh to follow your aruent.
Spanish is not too diffiult to learn. = Spanish is easy enouh to learn.
Your nails are lon enouh to srath anybody’s eyes out.
=Your nails are not too short to srath anybody’s eyes out.
That box is not bi enouh to hold all these thins.
= That box is too sall to hold all these thins.
2)“too„to”结构与“so„that”的否定从句可以相互转换。
It was too old for us to o shoppin. = It was so old that we ouldn’t o shoppin.
You are so bi and the jar is so sall that it ould hardly holdone of your feet.
= You are too bi and the jar is too sall for it to holdone of your feet.
3)“enouh to”结构与“so„that”结构相互转换。For exaple:
It was old enouh to freee our finers.
= It was so old that our finers froe.
The boy’s father was so thankful that he tauht Edison how to send essaes by railway teleraph.
= The boy’s father was thankful enouh to teah Edison to send essaes by railway teleraph.
1)“too„to”结构通常表示否定意义,“enouh to”结构则表示肯定意义。
He was too tired to o any further.(他太疲倦了,不能再往前走了。)(表否定意义) This book is easy enouh for a six-year old hild to read.
2)“too„to”和“enouh to”结构不能引导状语,而“so„that”结构可以引导状语从句。For exaple:
It’s too hot to work.(简单句)
I was fool enouh to believe her.(简单句)
He was so ill that we had to send for dotor.(复合句)
3)enouh
We have oney enouh to buy a ar.
There was enouh food left over to feed a doen ore people.
Enouh
He’s not ood enouh for us to arry.(修饰形容词)
He plays the violin well enouh to perfor at a onert.(修饰副词)

HUIHAN -----To the Tune of Qin Pin Yue
Suer 1934
Dawn is breakin,
Never you ind sayin “You set out too early”
After rossin the reen hills, we still reain youn
The senery here is exeptionally beautiful.
Riht outside of the ity walls of Huihan towerin peaks,
Peak upon peak streth aross to the eastern seas.
The soldiers point straiht to uandon,
Heavin in a distant siht ore luxuriant reen than ever.
