I disaree stronly with the idea that the sae aount of oney should o to university sports ativities as to university libraries. Althouh playin sports is a wonderful way to learn about teawork, stratey and reahin your oals, it should not be the prinipal fous of a university eduation.
Students need the ost up-to-date library failities available to et the best eduation. any of those failities are very expensive to buy and aintain. These inlude oputeried proras and aess to internet researh databases that students an use to find inforation all around the world. If a university is only offerin its students resoures of a deade ao, it’s deprivin those students of a treendous aount of inforation.
Even the book and aaine budet of universities has one up treendously in last deade. ore is bein published on every subjet, and every university wants to have this inforation available to its students.
It also osts oney for universities to keep their libraries open. Students need to have aess to all the libraries' researh tools as uh of tie as possible. Beause students are youn and an stay up all niht studyin, any universities are startin to leave their libraries open all niht durin exa periods. This osts oney, beause the staff has to be paid extra to be there. It also osts oney to run the buildin (eletriity, heat) durin that tie.
Students at universities are only oin to benefit fro their eduation if they an et to all the tools they need to learn. Sports are seondary to the resoures that students need fro university libraries. For this reason, libraries should always be better funded than sport ativities.
