Whenthewolfatlengthhadhadhisfillofsleep,hegotonhislegs,andasthestonesinhisstomachmadehimverythirsty,hewantedtogotoawelltodrink.Butwhenhebegantowalkandtomoveabout,thestonesinhisstomachknockedagainsteachotherandrattled.Thencriedhe:

'WhatrumblesandtumblesAgainstmypoorbones?Ithought'twassixkids,Butitfeelslikebigstones.'

Andwhenhegottothewellandstoopedoverthewatertodrink,theheavystonesmadehimfallin,andhedrownedmiserably.Whenthesevenkidssawthat,theycamerunningtothespotandcriedaloud:'Thewolfisdead!Thewolfisdead!'anddancedforjoyroundaboutthewellwiththeirmother.
