宋史·鲁宗道传
鲁宗道，字贯之，亳州谯人。少孤，鞠于外家，诸舅皆武人，颇易宗道，宗道益自奋厉读书。袖所著文谒戚纶，纶器重之。举进士，为濠州定远尉，再调海盐令。县东南旧有港，导海水至邑下，岁久湮塞。宗道发乡丁疏治之，人号“鲁公浦”。
天禧元年，始诏两省置谏官六员，考所言为殿最，首擢宗道与刘烨为右正言。谏章由阁门始得进而不赐对①，宗道请面论事而上奏通进司，遂为故事。宗道风闻。多所论列，帝意颇厌其数。后因对，自讼曰：“陛下用臣，岂欲徒事纳谏之虚名邪?臣窃耻尸禄，请得罢去。”帝抚谕良久，他日书殿壁曰“鲁直”，盖思念之也。
章献太后临朝，问宗道曰：“唐武后何如主?”对曰：“唐之罪人也，几危社稷。”后默然。时有请立刘氏七庙者太后问辅臣众不敢对宗道不可曰若立刘氏七庙如嗣君何?帝、太后将同幸慈孝寺，欲以大安辇先帝行，宗道曰：“夫死从子，妇人之道也。”太后遽命辇后乘舆。时执政多任子于馆阁读书。宗道曰：“馆阁育天下英才，岂纨绔子弟得以恩泽处邪?”枢密使曹利用恃权骄横，宗道屡于帝前折之。自贵戚用事者皆惮之，目为“鱼头参政”，因其姓，且言骨鲠如鱼头也。再迁尚书礼部侍郎、祥源观使。疾剧，帝临问，赐白金三千两。既卒，皇太后临奠之，赠兵部尚书。
宗道为人刚正，疾恶少容，遇事敢言，不为小谨。为谕德时，居近酒肆，尝微行就饮肆中，偶真宗亟召，使者及门久之，宗道方自酒肆来。使者先入，约曰：“即上怪公来迟。何以为对?”宗道曰：“第以实言之。”使者曰：“然则公当得罪。”曰：“饮酒，人之常情;欺君，臣子之大罪也。”真宗果问，使者具以宗道所言对。帝诘之，宗道谢曰：“有故人自乡里来，臣家贫无杯盘，故就酒家饮。”帝以为忠实可大用，尝以语太后。太后临朝，遂大用之。

On the other hand, the lack of knowledge about the importance of protecting environment hinders the solving of the problem. In a word, there is a long way to go before we enjoy a clean and comfortable world.
